ANA All Nippon Airways, Cathay Pacific, Korean Air, Finnair and Contour Aviation are the latest airlines to join the TSA PreCheck programme.
The two automated security screening lanes, funded by American Airlines, are now in operation in Terminal D at Miami International Airport.
Pittsburgh International Airport will be the first US airport since 9/11 to allow public airside access, following close collaboration with the TSA.
Travellers will now have to place all electronic devices larger than a cell phone in bins for X-ray screening at US airports.
