REDEFINING THE END-TO-END PASSENGER EXPERIENCE AND BUSINESS PERFORMANCE
Edinburgh Airport is to install eight computed tomography (CT) scanners, supplied by Smiths Detection, meaning passengers will no longer need to remove electronic devices, liquids, and gels from hand baggage.
New CT security scanners are being put into operation in Munich Airport’s Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, meaning passengers will no longer have to unpack their laptops and liquids for “fast processing and convenience”.
Birmingham Airport is installing Computed Tomography (CT) X-ray scanners as part of a £20 million security screening upgrade. The technology will enable passengers to leave liquids and electronics in hand baggage from June 2024.
Hamburg Airport has introduced a new service, Slot & Fly, enabling travellers to reserve a 15-minute timeslot to access the security checkpoint. The service will streamline the security process for passengers.

The TSA and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport are installing new CT scanners at TSA checkpoints, making the security experience “more efficient and less stressful” for passengers.
Noida International Airport has signed an agreement for Smiths Detection to supply both passenger and hold baggage screening equipment “to help ensure safety and efficiency for passengers”.
Hawaiian Airlines has invested in a new multimillion-dollar TSA security checkpoint at Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, alleviating congestion and “creating a better travel experience”.
New Zealand’s Aviation Security Service is equipping its five major international airports – Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, Queenstown and Wellington – with advanced checkpoint security technology supplied by Smiths Detection.
