ACI and IATA have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly develop Smart Security, which will be tested at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and London Heathrow.
FTE toured London Stansted Airport with Neil Banks, Terminal Transformation Manager, to preview the latest developments, including self-service smart access security gates, fast-track security, intuitive wayfinding and a virtual assistant.
The TSA is opening its PreCheck programme to all US citizens, having previously offered it only to those who are members of trusted traveller programmes.
Eleven more UK airports are to adopt full body security scanners, but passengers will be able to opt for a hand-search if they don’t wish to use them.
