The European Commission has announced plans to introduce a joint vaccination passport to facilitate free movement inside the EU during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The week-long trial at Edinburgh Airport, which started on 1 March, uses tests that only require a saliva sample and deliver results within 15 minutes.
The new service will allow passengers to send COVID-19 test certificates and confirmations of digital entry applications 72 hours before departure.
Air New Zealand has announced that it will start trials of the IATA Travel Pass digital health passport solution on its Auckland-Sydney route in April.

The trial will be rolled out on Qatar’s Doha to Istanbul route, enabling passengers to receive COVID-19 test results and verify they’re eligible to travel.
