Qantas’ premium customers flying from London Heathrow Airport will soon be able to enjoy a new flagship lounge, which is due to open in early 2017.
Flagship Dining will offer “a one-of-a-kind, pre-flight meal with full tableside service and elegant dining”, according to American Airlines.
The Lounge Shopping, Inflight Shopping and Taste & Travel services will leverage digital technology and a delivery service in an attempt to boost revenues.
The £80 million Pier 5 redevelopment has seen gate areas extended, arriving and departing passenger flows separated, and the number of aircraft stands increased.

The new lounge, located in Sea-Tac Airport’s North Satellite Terminal, offers workstations, free Wi-Fi, large-screen TVs and areas to relax ahead of flying.
The investment in airport lounges, premium transfers and customer service follows a significant investment in improving the onboard experience.
The new San Francisco Club is twice the size of the old lounge and includes bespoke artwork, a premium bar, high-end menu, and views over the runway and bay.
The new lounge includes distinct zones dedicated to dining, working and relaxing, and is open to Qantas Business, Platinum and Platinum One frequent flyers.
A new lounge precinct will be constructed as part of a domestic terminal expansion, and a new Business Lounge and Chairmans Lounge will be built.
The new “Aspire” lounge in Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 5 features rest pods, quiet zones, work areas, luxury spa treatments and British-inspired cuisine.
The eight Day Suites are furnished with a daybed, reading light, mirror and curtains, and offer views over the runway at Hong Kong International Airport.
