As airports and airlines continue to innovate in order enhance the passenger experience, we reveal what passengers really want from the airport of the future.
Almost 50 million passengers are set to benefit from a major investment in IT solutions across 13 airports in Indonesia.
Having been introduced in 2008, the CUPPS initiative is now in the implementation phase, with the CUPPS group in the process of writing an Implementation Guide.
On the back of a successful year for the Fast Travel programme, IATA has set an ambitious target for 2011 as it seeks to widen the appeal of self-service.
Content plans: The final virtual members meeting of 2024 will focus on the “year in review”, while also providing an update on current Proof of Concepts and looking ahead to plans for 2025.

Alaska Airlines will introduce its Airport of the Future check-in process and modern gate facilities at LAX as part of its transfer to Terminal 6.

As part of the ongoing Simplifying the Business (StB) initiative, the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Fast Travel programme is rapidly progressing, attracting global support from airlines, airports and passengers alike. Ryan Ghee spoke to Stephan Copart, project manager, Fast Travel – IATA.
The first CUPPS (Common Use Passenger Processing System) certification has been achieved. In August, SITA became the first platform provider to achieve compliance certification and to successfully complete its CUPPS Pilot Program. Ross Falconer reports.

All Nippon Airways has chosen Damarel to supply the latest version of its full DCS back up system. The solution provide a real-time transfer of passenger and flight information between an airline’s own DCS and Damarel’s Local DCS, ensuring the best possible continuation of service and on-time performance.

All airlines must be Bar Coded Boarding Pass (BCBP) capable by the end of 2008, and by the end of 2010 all boarding passes must be BCBP.
