REDEFINING THE END-TO-END PASSENGER EXPERIENCE AND BUSINESS PERFORMANCE
Japan Airlines has announced it will progressively implement self-service bag drops and facial recognition technology at Narita International Airport.
BAGTAG has announced the development of the world’s first multi-solution EBT (Electronic Bag Tag) platform, BAGTAG BRIDGE, in partnership with One Bag Tag.
The service enables customers to have bags collected from their home, where travel documents are scanned and validated to complete the check-in process.
The first 10 auto bag drop units, developed by ICM, are now live at Narita International Airport’s Terminal 1 South Wing for All Nippon Airways.

According to SITA, airlines that are adding tracking at more points of the baggage journey are seeing a huge improvement in bag delivery globally.
Passengers departing with Thomas Cook Airlines from London Gatwick will now be able to check-in their baggage from their own home.
Using artificial intelligence (AI), Aeromexico’s chatbot, Aerobot, will now be able to respond to passengers’ queries about the location of their luggage.
The self-service bag drop units reduce passenger check-in times, and are currently in use by a number of airlines at Heathrow Terminals 2, 3 and 5.
The partnership with Vanderlande will focus on applying the latest autonomous vehicle technology to the baggage handling process at Hong Kong International Airport.
The new check-in area in the terminal building at Montréal-Trudeau Airport delivers an improved passenger experience with its 16 new self-bag-drop units.
The In-Town Check-In service will enable passengers to carry out all check-in procedures at the downtown facilities before heading to the airport.
A further 15 SITA Scan&Fly self bag drop units will be installed in KLIA2, following the successful implementation of 15 units earlier this year.
