Vanderlande – an Airport Lab Network Partner of the FTE Baggage Innovation Working Group – has signed contracts to provide baggage handling systems (BHS) for two airports in Vietnam.

This includes supplying a BHS for the new passenger terminal (T3) at Tan Son Nhat International Airport. For this project, Vanderlande will integrate the complete flow of baggage into one control system – from bag drop all the way through to the make-up area.

The second contract is to provide a BHS at Long Thanh International Airport (LTIA). The new facility is scheduled to open in 2026 and is located approximately 40km from Ho Chi Minh City. Once again, Vanderlande will provide an integrated end-to-end solution that takes care of baggage from passenger check-in to flight make-up. “Building a new international airport, such as Long Thanh, is a challenging and complex business, which is why we always work with suppliers we can trust,” said Sinan Uzun, LTIA Project Director. “Vanderlande’s BHS have been proven in airports across the world, and I’m sure their design will provide an efficient service for passengers.”

Adam Matheson, Sales Director, Vanderlande, commented: “We were delighted to sign these agreements during a week that highlighted 50 years of diplomatic and commercial relations between The Netherlands and Vietnam. We’re honoured to play a role in providing travellers to and from both airports with a seamless, reliable service as well as a pleasant travel experience.”
