A brand-new COVID-19 testing laboratory has opened at Liverpool John Lennon Airport. Salutaris People, which operates rapid PCR testing services for passengers at the airport, unveiled the laboratory alongside Test Assurance Group – official COVID-19 testing partner to Liverpool John Lennon Airport. The state-of-the-art facility is in partnership with Source BioScience – a provider of laboratory services.
The new facility – the only one of its kind at a UK airport – has been designed to perform 500 tests per day, with the potential to increase capacity to 1,000+ daily tests if required.
The service offered includes Rapid Fit to Fly testing with a turnaround time of three hours, alongside Standard 24-hour Fit to Fly testing. Samples are also collected onsite at Liverpool John Lennon Airport and processed at Source Bioscience’s main laboratory in Nottingham, enabling Day 2, Day 8, Test to Release and a diagnostic PCR COVID-19 testing service.
