Earlier this year, United Airlines and SITA announced trials of a low-touch, biometric-enabled airport experience from check-in to boarding for domestic travellers on select flights from San Francisco International Airport (SFO). In this interview, which took place during the recent FTE APEX Biometrics Summit, Betsy Landoll, Innovation & Experience Design, United Airlines, and Sherry Stein, Head of Technology Strategy, Americas, SITA, shared the key lessons learned from the partnership and how the trials have informed the carrier’s approach to biometrics in the future.
