KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will soon offer passengers a KLM Care Tag, which is a smart audio luggage tag that automatically provides travellers with location-based verbal tips while traversing Amsterdam.
The specially designed location-aware audio luggage tag consists of an offline GPS module and a speaker. While you are walking or cycling through the city, it offers the right tip at the right location at the right time.
All over Amsterdam, KLM has plotted the voice of their “caring crew” at spots where some extra assistance can be valuable. The tag will be offered to passengers in September and it can simply be attached to their luggage or clothes.
KLM crew have filled the KLM Care Tag with hundreds of practical tips about the city of Amsterdam, including tips such as where and how to lock your bike, and when you have to watch out for pickpockets. The device also offers more lighthearted tips such as where to taste local food for free, where to see great street art, or where to rent a bike or boat.
In September, the KLM Care Tag can be ordered online for free by passengers who are travelling to Amsterdam. The first batch of KLM Care Tags will only be available in English but later this year there will be more available in Chinese, Portuguese, German and Russian.
