Forty-five mobile self-service check-in kiosks have been installed in the International Terminal at Auckland Airport, as the airport plans for expected record passenger throughput this summer.
The kiosks, which have a 12-hour battery life, can be easily moved to different locations in the terminal to cater to demand during peak periods.
As well as allowing passengers to check in and print boarding passes, the kiosks include bag tag printers, empowering passengers to tag their own bags before dropping them at dedicated bag drop counters.
Passengers flying with Cathay Pacific and American Airlines are the first to be able to use the new kiosks. More airlines are expected to come online later in 2017.
In addition to installing the new self-service kiosks, Auckland Airport has added 13 new service counters and upgraded the flight information display screens across the terminal.
