All Nippon Airways (ANA) has launched self-service bag drop in Terminal 2 at Haneda Airport and plans to install a total of 39 units by the end of 2015. The initiative marks the first implementation of self-service bag drop in Japan.
The new bag drop machines have been installed alongside ANA’s self-service check-in kiosks and the service, named “ANA Baggage Drop Services”, is available in Japanese, English, traditional Chinese, simplified Chinese and Korean languages.
ANA’s Tetsuo Fukuda, Executive Vice President of CS & Products Services, Corporate Planning, and a member of the FTE Airline #PaxEx Power List, said: “At ANA, we continuously strive for the highest global standards of service in order to enhance convenience for our customers.
“We are proud to offer the first automated baggage drop stations in Japan. This is the latest offering in our mission to create a seamless check-in process for our guests, and we plan to roll out more services in the months to come.”
In order to make the check-in process as intuitive as possible for all customers, ANA will introduce a series of easily identifiable pictograms to help them locate the appropriate counter and amenities.
