Cebu Pacific Air has equipped its customer-facing staff with tablets, so they can roam the terminal, check-in passengers using the tablet and print their boarding passes remotely. The service, labelled Agent Xpress, has initially been introduced at Kalibo Airport.
Kalibo Airport in the Philippines was chosen as the launch site due to the high volume of leisure passengers and the limited counter space.
Candice Iyog, Vice President for Marketing and Distribution at Cebu Pacific Air, commented: “Agent Xpress can make the check-in process faster and more convenient for our guests, given space limitations in certain airports. We are studying the launch of Agent Xpress in other airports as well.”
Roaming agents can check-in passengers using their tablets who have confirmed flight itineraries, and from four hours to 45 minutes before the scheduled departure.
Iyog also explained that passengers can make use of Cebu Pacific Air’s kiosks or website to check-in, adding: “We want to make many options available, so guests are empowered to manage their travel time and experience.”
