United Airlines will be the first airline to operate from London Heathrow Airport’s new Terminal 2 upon its opening on 4 June, and it has unveiled two high-end lounges that will be available to premium passengers.
The United Global First Lounge and United Club lounge occupy more than 2,000sqm of space in the new facility and will offer passengers floor-to-ceiling views of the airfield, luxurious décor, vintage aviation-themed artwork, complimentary food and beverages, and free Wi-Fi.
The United Global First Lounge, exclusively open to first class passengers flying with Star Alliance carriers, includes a Big Ben-style clock in the tea lounge section, a wine room, private phone booths and a quiet zone.
Meanwhile, the United Club lounge is open to United Club members travelling in United’s business class cabin, and Star Alliance Gold members. It includes seating for 280 guests, a 25-seat full service bar, a TV lounge and private phone booths. It is the first lounge outside of the US to feature the United Club design concept.
