easyJet has announced that passengers travelling from London Gatwick Airport can now board their flights using mobile boarding passes on Apple and Android smartphones.
The announcement comes just four months after the airline started trials of the technology at London Stansted, London Southend, Manchester, Edinburgh, Amsterdam and Nice airports.
Peter Duffy, Marketing Director, easyJet, said: “More than six million people have now downloaded the easyJet app to buy flights and get the most up-to-date information about their travel. Giving passengers the option of mobile boarding pass technology is another way for us to make flying with easyJet as easy as possible.”
The mobile boarding pass can be downloaded via the airline’s app. Once downloaded, it is stored offline, meaning passengers can access the mobile boarding pass without needing access to Wi-Fi or mobile network coverage.
easyJet is an official event partner of Future Travel Experience Europe 2014, which will take place at the Park Plaza Riverbank London, 3-5 March 2014.
