Bologna Airport will introduce a new bag drop system next year, which will allow automatic check-in and self-service bag drop.
In total, 14 of the Siemens Sicheck units will be supplied. The first four should be in place by September 2012, before the installation of ten more is complete by the summer of 2013.
All passengers will be able to use the self-service terminals regardless of which airline they are flying with.
Stefan Keh, CEO, Siemens Infrastructure Logistics Business Unit, said: “Passengers will be able to check-in in less than one minute using our Sicheck system. It is uncomplicated and passengers can do everything themselves.”
