Vietnam Airlines passengers travelling on select Airbus A350 aircraft are now able to enjoy onboard Wi-Fi to text and browse the internet.
AirAsia is upgrading its Wi-Fi service, powered by ROKKI and GX Aviation, to provide high-speed in-flight connectivity to passengers.
FTE highlights some of the most exciting announcements from last week’s APEX EXPO, which took place in Los Angeles.
Customers travelling on a Norwegian Wi-Fi enabled aircraft will now be able to stay connected for the entire duration of the flight.

According to Inmarsat, the new satellites, developed for its Global Xpress (GX) network, can transform inflight broadband capabilities for airlines.

Passengers can now enjoy inflight Wi-Fi across the carrier’s Business, Premium Economy and Economy cabins on its new A330neo aircraft.
The Wi-Fi service will be available for passengers travelling long-haul on Norwegian’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and 737 MAX aircraft.
The new AirFi LEO product will enable basic web services such as online payments, real-time bookings and social media usage at 35,000 feet.
The two parties will be able to combine their services to offer broadband inflight connectivity paired with high-value solutions and services to airlines.
Following the launch of a new app, AirlineCheckins Plus customers can now access inflight Wi-Fi onboard 36 airlines thanks to a partnership with iPass.
The survey, conducted by Populus on behalf of Inmarsat, found that 91% of 18-30 year olds and 90% of business travellers would use in-flight Wi-Fi.
Indonesian LCC Citilink has confirmed that it will install Inmarsat’s high-speed GX Aviation inflight connectivity solution on 50 Airbus A320s.
Almost four in 10 commercial aircraft globally will be equipped with inflight Wi-Fi by the end of 2018, according to Valour Consultancy.
