Joby’s eVTOL aircraft could reduce the 31-mile journey from Osaka station to Kansai International Airport from one hour by car to 15 minutes.
As part of the partnership, AirAsia has signed a non-binding MoU to lease a minimum of 100 VX4 eVTOL aircraft from Avolon.
The initiative is a significant step towards launching commercial advanced air mobility services in time for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Ferrovial will develop and operate zero-carbon air transport infrastructure to enhance urban and regional connectivity throughout the country.
A new company, called Urban Blue, has been launched by airports in Rome, Nice, Venice and Bologna to accelerate urban air mobility infrastructures internationally.
The partnership will enable SEA Milan Airports and Skyports to explore the deployment of vehicle-agnostic, scalable and cost effective vertiports across Italy.
