REDEFINING THE END-TO-END PASSENGER EXPERIENCE AND BUSINESS PERFORMANCE
The vast majority of passengers want to be able to use their smartphone to manage flight disruptions, receive real-time updates and search for fares, according to SITA’s ‘Smart Thinking’ study.
FTE spoke to Air France-KLM’s Manuel van Lijf about the new eTag and eTrack – a permanent bag tag and a tracking device – which could improve the baggage process across the industry.
Moscow Domodedovo Airport has installed self-service WorldTracer kiosks, which allow passengers to report delayed bags without having to queue up to see an agent.
The aircraft manufacturer has made a next-generation step in baggage technology with the unveiling of its innovative ‘smart’ luggage prototype, which features an embedded RFID chip that can be tracked using the ‘Find my Bag’ function of the bag’s accompanying iPhone app.
