Cyberworks Robotics today announced a global partnership with Bosch that combines the revolutionary Cyberworks autonomous Wheelchair navigation system with Bosch Rexroth’s legendary expertise in autonomous vehicle technology. Cyberworks’ launch of the new autonomous wheelchair marks a revolution in the industry with a wide range of new capabilities that go beyond currently available autonomous wheelchairs. Among many breakthrough features is the elimination of so-called “edge case” failure scenarios that have plagued other autonomous navigation systems in the past. The breakthrough technology is for example, able to navigate through complex crowds which have proven a barrier to past technologies. It also offers a proprietary “Elegant Motion Technology” framework that ensures a level of comfort for the passenger that rivals “riding on rails” and eliminates motion-sickness associated with conventional autonomous wheelchairs. Cyberworks’ initial product offering is built into the Sunrise Q700M HD wheelchair which is one of the most heavy-duty wheelchairs in the world, made in America by Sunrise Medical, a global leader in medical wheelchairs. The Sunrise partnership provides customer support in every US city and eliminates supply chain issues. Said Vivek Burhanpurkar, CEO of Cyberworks Robotics and a pioneering veteran of the autonomous vehicle industry since its inception in the 80’s, “This global alliance will reshape the future of the autonomous wheelchair industry and we look forward to now partnering with airport PRM wheelchair service providers around the world”.
