VINCI Airports partners with SITA to implement innovative tech and optimise operations at seven airports in Brazil

VINCI Airports – a Corporate Partner of the FTE Digital, Innovation & Startup Hub – and SITA (an exhibitor at FTE Global, LA, 28-30 October 2024) are implementing innovative tech at seven airports in Brazil.

VINCI Airports – a Corporate Partner of the FTE Digital, Innovation & Startup Hub – is to implement the SITA Airport Management solution at seven airports in Brazil. The airports, which are operated by Amazon Airport Concessionaire, as part of the VINCI Airports network, include: Manaus Airport, Porto Velho Airport, Rio Branco Airport, Boa Vista Airport, Cruzeiro do Sul Airport, Tabatinga Airport, and Tefé Airport. In addition, the airport group has renewed an ongoing agreement with SITA – an exhibitor at FTE Global, the “CES of Aviation” taking place in Los Angeles on 28-30 October 2024 – to continue providing the same service at Salvador Bahia Airport. The systems will be available to passengers starting from the second half of this year.

“We are very pleased to continue and expand our partnership with SITA for the use of these technologies,” said Julio Ribas, CEO of VINCI Airports in Brazil. “2024 has been a positive year of growth, recovery and consolidation of advances in the post-pandemic scenario. In this brand-new time, more than ever, the tools offered by this company will be of great use to us in making decisions that will continue to lead us down a path of success. It will be very exciting to start using these solutions at the airports we manage in the Brazilian Amazon area.”

SITA Airport Management is a multi-airport solution that helps airport managers and airlines efficiently manage flight operations, optimise fixed and mobile resources, such as check-in counters, baggage reclaim carousels, and manage mobile resources, meaning the staff that works during the aircraft turnaround at the airport. The solution also facilitates collaborative decision-making. The technology can enable a reduction in fuel consumption by reducing the amount of time the aircraft’s engines are running, limiting idling.

By combining these technologies, the eight airports in the VINCI Airports network in Brazil will be able to consolidate operational data, monitoring key performance indicators for terminal operations and for the business, ensuring that they meet the quality-of-service objectives for passengers.

“Brazilian airports are seeing an increasing demand in air traffic, which is why optimising operations is more important now than ever to ensure the industry can keep up,” said Shawn Gregor, SITA’s President for the Americas. “Solutions like SITA Airport Management can help unlock the operational capabilities of airports across the country, region and on a global scale. We are excited to be expanding our partnership with VINCI Airports, which is responsible for operating more than 70 airports in 14 countries around the world.”
