Jazeera Airways renews Bluebox’s Blueview IFE service providing IFE options on passengers’ personal devices

Jazeera Airways has renewed its partnership with Bluebox. This includes delivery of the Blueview inflight entertainment experience Jazeera Screens, which provides IFE options on passengers’ personal devices.

Jazeera Airways has renewed its partnership with Bluebox Aviation Systems. The agreement includes delivery of the Blueview inflight entertainment (IFE) experience Jazeera Screens, which provides IFE options to passengers on their personal devices. This is done over a Bluebox Wow wireless network onboard the airline’s Airbus A320 fleet.

The multi-year renewal includes expansion of fleet coverage, in a flexible arrangement in which Bluebox provides additional Wow units for new and leased aircraft entering the fleet, which now stands at 23 aircraft. There is also flexibility built in, with Jazeera being an all-Airbus fleet, to incorporate Airspace Link deployment of Blueview should Jazeera select this option on new aircraft in future.

“At Jazeera Airways, we introduced Jazeera Screens for our passengers to enjoy inflight entertainment free of cost on their personal devices,” said Bharthan Ravindran, VP Commercial, Jazeera Airways. “In the last six years of our partnership with Bluebox, we have seen their commitment to excellence, which is in sync with our ideologies. The deployment and the individual projects we have undertaken since we launched the service have been delivered smoothly and efficiently, and we look forward to seeing the same results in the next phase.”

As part of the enhanced Blueview solution already delivered, Jazeera has introduced a new Jazeera Screens user interface, and integrated Jazeera Screens into the airline app.

“The whole team at Bluebox is incredibly proud that Jazeera has become such a longstanding customer, as our enduring partnership has led to interesting development opportunities and helps nurture greater innovation, which is so important in our sector,” said Paul Rayson, Business Development Director, Bluebox. “Having the flexibility for future development built into our partnership means the collaboration continues even if each new element comes in stages. For example, for some time – and constrained by the availability of economical connectivity options for most airlines – the emphasis in our sector was turned towards an app-free experience. But as technology advances further and as airlines see the value and invest more in their digital relationship with passengers, on the ground and in the air, their apps will become an even more important link in the digital journey. We’re excited to be part of how that could evolve with Jazeera.”
