Dublin Airport has launched a new digital shopping wall offering passengers an opportunity to shop at the gate.
The digital shopping wall, which is located in the 100 gates boarding area, offers a range of products from the airport’s retail area The Loop. Items on the shopping wall are linked to a QR code that can be scanned into a smartphone which brings passengers to the specific item, then offers a further option to browse The Loop’s website.
Any of the 18 products purchased at the digital wall or from The Loop’s website will be available at the Shop & Collect desk in the Arrivals Hall on the passenger’s return.
“We are very excited to launch our first ever digital shopping wall for The Loop at Dublin Airport,” said Paul Neeson, Head of Retail at Dublin Airport.
“This service is perfect for passengers who may have bypassed our shopping area in a hurry only to realise when they get to their boarding gate that they would have had time to shop after all. The digital shopping wall is all about convenience and providing more choice for our customers,” he added.
The Loop’s digital shopping wall is one of a number of new projects that are being developed at Dublin Airport under an initiative known as The Future Factory, which creates and tests new projects around the airport campus.
“We’re delighted with the response from customers so far and we are planning to launch it in Terminal 2 and other airside locations in the coming months,” Neeson said.
