British Airways is extending its pre-ordering service for in-flight meals to five additional routes, following a positive response from premium passengers.

Passengers flying in First, Club World (business class) and World Traveller Plus (premium economy) can now pre-order their meals when flying from Heathrow to Beirut, Cairo, Baku, Tel Aviv and Amman. The service is also available on all of BA’s long-haul routes.

The service was launched last year alongside the introduction of an option for World Traveller (economy) passengers to purchase one of six meals in advance of their flight, as an alternative to the standard on board menu. The meals can be pre-booked up to 24 hours before the flight.

Colin Talbot, British Airways’ Head of Catering, said: “We know how important food is to customers when they fly. It forms a significant part of the service and experience and we want to make sure our customers really enjoy the meals they’re served. These two options that we’ve introduced in the past year allow them to select their meals and look forward to their choice.”
