British Airways has unveiled the luxurious First Class suites that will debut on its Boeing 787-9s, the first of which will enter service in late October. While the B787-8s feature Club World, World Traveller Plus and World Traveller cabins, the 787-9, which is 20-foot longer than the -8, will also include eight First Class suites.
The new-look premium product includes a number of eye-catching features. The smart “jog-dial” control can be used to control recline, the headrest, lumbar support and lighting, while a touchscreen handset has been introduced for the in-flight entertainment, which is delivered on a 23-inch monitor. The device can also be used as a second screen.
An additional stowage area has been introduced next to the left armrest, while a separate locker, complete with a door-mounted mirror, and an ottoman offer further stowage space. The above video offers a more detailed insight into what awaits First Class passengers on the new 787-9.
British Airways’ 787-9 Dreamliner will enter service on the London Heathrow-Delhi route on 25 October, and the aircraft will also serve Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Austin, Kuala Lumpur, San Jose and California.
