Mike Haswell, Head of Business Development, Commerce, Google is our surprise guest speaker at FTE 2011 and joins our session on “Realising the possibilities of mobile technology and assessing whether Near Field Communication (NFC) is ready to become mainstream”.

Google this week outlined a proposal to buy Motorola Mobility for $12.5 billion, and NFC is a key part of Google’s mobile strategy going forward. Mike is leading many of their partnership efforts in this area, so his insight and expertise will be invaluable to our discussions in Vancouver.

NFC has been identified as having the potential to completely revolutionise the future travel process. From check-in and boarding, to payment and passenger tracking, the possibilities that could be brought about by the widespread adoption are considerable.
