Verizon Wireless has partnered with Gogo to offer free in-flight Wi-Fi as part of its “Connection Day” promo on 26 November, the day before Thanksgiving.
The promotion coincides with one of the busiest travel days of the year in the US, when domestic long-distance travel is expected to increase by more than 50%. The free in-flight Wi-Fi session will be limited to 30 minutes per passenger and will be available on Gogo-equipped aircraft operated within the US, Canada and Mexico by American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Delta, Air Tran, United, US Airways and Virgin America.
Verizon has also teamed up with JetBlue to offer free connectivity to travellers. All JetBlue passengers flying on Fly-Fi equipped aircraft will be able to connect to the high-speed onboard Wi-Fi for free for the duration of their flight between 26 November and 31 December.
In addition to the in-flight connectivity offers, passengers will be able make the most of complimentary Wi-Fi at a number of US airports thanks to another one-off partnership between Verizon and Boingo.
